Highlands Latin Phoenix Leadership Team
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
for brethren to dwell together in unity!”
Katie has been homeschooling for the past three years using the Memoria Press curriculum. She enrolled her child at Highlands because she loved the vision, community, and the familiar curriculum. As the administrator, she hopes to continue the momentum in expanding the program to reach more families through a Christ-centered, classical education.
Katie Meeks holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Science, Administration, and Advanced Patient Care, and enjoys staying active. Her hobbies also include reading (she is a classical book worm!) and studying theology. She is a woman of deep daith who is inspired daily by the love of Christ and His message of hope.

Founder & Director
Laura is delighted to serve families in the Phoenix area as the director of Highlands Latin Phoenix. Founding and running an academically-rich, Classical Christian school brings together many of her passions and strengths, and is the result of years of personal preparation.
Laura classically homeschooled her four children from the beginning, taking a special interest in history, Latin, grammar, and the liberal arts in general. She has a passion for learning and has always loved teaching just about any subject area to any age group, but when she discovered Memoria Press curriculum, she and her children found even greater meaning and satisfaction in their educational journey. She had found a curriculum company whose philosophies and vision she could stand behind fully, and desired to share this educational pathway with others. She knew that students and parents alike would delight in the fruits of classical, Christian education, especially if they had the structure and support of a community of teachers and students dedicated to the same academic and character development goals. Highlands Latin Phoenix is that community.
Laura has always sought out challenging education experiences, from the International Baccalaureate in high school to the great books based honors program in college. She holds a bachelors and masters with high honors in Marriage and Family Therapy. In addition to homeschooling, Laura enjoys yoga, cycling, and weight lifting, as well as reading, organization, crafts, traveling, and listening to beautiful Latin choral music.
